ContractHer is the go-to general home remodel contractor in the Burke/Fairfax area. On our cul-de-sac alone, we were the third homeowner to use their services. When you hire Monica and Jason you work with a team that brings an interior designer’s eye and excellent project management skills. They have a proven approach with weekly homeowners meetings and a written project schedule which in our case meant that they completed the project several days early. When you decide to work with them, you will benefit from the trusted relationships they have built with county inspectors, sub-contractors and a team of carpenters/painters who do fine craftsmanship. It was remarkable because the ContractHer workers arrived early and never missed a day. ContractHer made such consistent progress our neighbor across the street asked who we were using because the company they chose did not have reliable workers and were delayed several weeks. Home remodeling can be stressful and the team’s friendliness, professional demeanor, and competency made the challenges very bearable.
We had a very good experience with Monica and Jason and the whole team from ContractHer and it started and continued with open communication through the entire process.
Monica listened closely to what we wanted and needed regarding repairs and design of our two bathrooms. As the bathrooms came together and were completed, we saw the depth of her understanding of what we wanted and needed and her ability to design a space from those conversations.
Monica collaborated with us in the decision-making process which made it very efficient. She prioritized hearing what we wanted and worked with us to make sure we knew the pros and cons of our preferences so we could make informed decisions to ensure what we ultimately chose would make sense functionally and aesthetically.
We did not see the process as clearly as she did, and we are thankful for her clarity of vision especially with decisions she made in our stead because it was in sync with what we wanted and needed and it totally worked in the space we have.
Open communication with ContractHer was the foundation of our good experience and we so appreciated the in person communication such as,
(1) weekly meetings with Monica and Jason which kept us fully informed and gave us an opportunity to ask questions and
(2) their team, when necessary, would communicate with us if we happened to be home regarding timing or what to expect the next day which helped our family plan around timing/access.
The crew from ContractHer and the team of subcontractors were skilled, with a strong work ethic and they showed genuine care for our project. The respect for our project, our family and our space felt as if they were working on their own home.
The remodeled bathrooms have transformed our home in unexpected ways! Now, having a beautiful and very functional, well-thought out bathroom space for us and our young children has replaced our just-get-through-it bath time into a part of our day that is restorative for all of us.

We were so impressed with their responsiveness, timeliness, communication, and commitment to quality workmanship and compliance with building codes that we have hired them multiple times. I let them know that my eyes, annoyingly, are drawn to mistakes or flaws in finishes, patterns, and symmetry and they were so dedicated to ensuring the materials and workmanship were top notch. On one of our projects we ran into supply chain issues and they were diligent about following up with the supplier and communicating the status to us. Monica and her team are also just great people so it was fun to work with them.
